Dr. Stephen Baker M.D., FRCSC

Ophthalmologist and
Oculoplastic Surgeon

Dr. Stephen Baker is an ophthalmologist with sub-specialty training in oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Baker is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has served as past President of the Canadian Oculoplastic Society. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia, and has earned a reputation of excellence by providing a creative approach to reconstructive surgery, developing novel surgical techniques, and for his meticulous attention to detail.

Dr. Baker is highly regarded by his staff and patients alike; He brings a calm, comforting presence to the clinic, and kindness to all of his interactions. He is thoughtful, detail oriented and really values the relationships he has built with his amazing patients over the years.  When he is away from the clinic and operating room, Dr. Baker always enjoys spending quality time with his lovely family, swimming and playing a few rounds of golf with friends and colleagues.

Dionne Baker PhD

Dionne Laslo-Baker is our Medical Scientist, enriching our clinic with thorough evaluation of Medical-Grade skincare and rejuvenation devices. Dionne, originally from Vancouver, obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on child oncology. She was honored with the title of Humanitarian of the Year at the Hospital for Sick Children while completing her graduate work at the University of Toronto. She has been widely published in medical journals and her research has attracted international attention. Dr. Dionne Laslo-Baker has received numerous accolades and awards including the” Canadian Institute of Health Research Doctoral Award” for her studies investigating the effects of exposure to chemicals during pregnancy on fetal development. While she has been extremely successful in both her education and career endeavors, she would always say that her greatest achievement in life is her family. Her staff would describe her as a “powerhouse” of a woman, who does it all! She is a loving wife and mother, a motivational and supportive leader, and a generous and nurturing human being. Dionne loves to spend her spare time with her amazing family and friends.

Robyn Wasser BScN, RN

Robyn graduated from the University of Victoria in 2012 and quickly found her place practicing in Cardiology and Critical Care. Driven by her evolving passion for nursing, she decided to take a leap of faith and follow her heart to pursue a different career path and joined the amazing team at Baker Rejuvenation Centre. With a strong commitment to her clients, she prioritizes safety and staying up-to-date on current best practice guidelines and the latest research. She treats all of her clients as friends, those who meet her say she brings a warm, funny, upbeat flare to her treatment room. Originally from Trail B.C, Robyn moved to Victoria for University and she never left. She met her husband and together they have two beautiful children. In her down-time you’ll find her exploring the island with her family, painting, enjoying a nice glass of wine with friends and frequenting the many beaches Victoria has to offer (fully decked out in a wide-brim hat, oversized sunglasses, beach covers and multiple layers of SPF, naturally!)

PJ Palec

Ophthalmic technician

PJ is an ophthalmic technician at Baker Rejuvenation Centre, known for her dedication and attention to detail in patient care. Originally from the Philippines, she brings a warm, friendly approach to her role, ensuring every patient feels comfortable and well taken care of.

Outside of work, PJ loves exploring new places on Vancouver Island and camping with her husband. Her passion for the outdoors and her commitment to her job make her a valued member of our team.

Madison Garbish

Office manager and surgical coordinator

Madison is the Office Manager and Surgical Coordinator at Baker Rejuvenation Centre. Originally from Prince Edward Island, she ensures smooth office operations and surgical scheduling. Known for her attention to detail and organizational skills, Madison provides excellent support to both the medical team and patients.

Outside of work, Madison enjoys playing classical piano, singing in her local community choir, and exploring the outdoors with her dog. Her blend of professional efficiency and personal passions adds a unique touch to her role at the centre.

Isabella Garay

PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Isabella, originally from Maple Ridge, is the friendly face at our front reception. With her background as a licensed medical esthetician, she effortlessly blends professionalism with warmth, ensuring everyone feels valued from the moment they arrive.

Outside of work, Isabella is a culinary enthusiast and loves exploring the outdoors. However, her greatest joy comes from spending quality time with loved ones, creating lasting memories. Her dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere extends seamlessly from her personal life to her role at our center.
